2022 Christmas Party

As usual the club held its end of year Christmas Party, the last club night of the year. A good number turned out for the party at the Worthing Leisure Centre where there was a good spread of food for the assembled masses.

As is traditional with these events a draw was held and one single table dominated the proceedings by winning so may prizes it made one wonder if all the tickets had been put in the bucket – which they had of course – it was Lady Luck having a laugh.

As always the event is an opportunity to present the trophies for the annual competitions, this year there being three to give out: Power Competition, Gliding Competition and the Builder’s Trophy

A grand set of Trophies, the shields for the power and gliding competitions along with small shields to keep for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, the Hurricane in the centre for the Builder’s Trophy and on the left two new trophies (more details below).

Our chairman Les made the presentations after one and all had had a chance to have a chin wag, some food and a drink to dampen the dust.

Builder’s Trophy went to Mark:

Power Competition winner – Chris Foss:

Gliding competition went to Mark:

After the normal presentations Clive briefed us all on a new award in memory of our old friend and club stalwart Peter Plank who died in 2021, presented to an all round good club member and good egg so to speak and John Ivory was presented with the well deserved award:

At the end of the presentations Paul stood up and briefed the assembled on a proposed trophy for 2023 and beyond for jet flying – details are as yet TBD. The Trophy is a Pegasus Fan Blade mounted as seen below.
